Slipped Disco’s new bi-monthly DJ and live club night, UFO, spins back into orbit with seminal guest DJ Justin Robertson dropping a trademark eclectic set alongside Milo Smee, co-founder of psychedelic acid funkers Chrome Hoof. They’re joined by the critically adored My Toys Like Me playing live. Of the moment band, KAN’T (an un-super group formed out of former members of They Came From The Stars I Saw Them, Les Hommes Du Train and Coco Electric), will bring their improvised set to the top floor, turning the BCH into a live dance floor. Guest DJ Sonny, back over from Singapore, will be supplying deep house from his Mighty Rumble label, while resident DJs Ben Osborne, Horton Jupiter and DJ Sculpture will keep the night in happening wigged out grooves.

Slipped Disco’s UFO namechecks the original London prog club and looks outside the norm for inspiration, embracing the current crop of prog grooves, percussive house, cosmic techno, dancefloor rock and Funk b-lines and seguing them, in true a prog spirit, into one ridiculously over-blown anthem.

“Slipped Disco can be relied upon to organise a good party” (Spoonfed)

“the coolest parties in east London.” (ilikemusic)

“nights for everyone in need of somewhere to let their hair down.” (Joe Rudkin, Flavourpill)

Described as “ace!” by Time Out. Over the last five years Slipped Disco has introduced the UK to acts such as SebastiAn (Ed Banger) and Kavinsky (Record Makers), who played their first ever gig together here and went on to become Daft Punk’s tour DJ duo. Alex Gopher played his first ever live band gig at SD, Zombie Zombie made their London debut, as did Krazy Baldhead and rising Norwegian stars Casiokids, who played their UK debut here and promptly got signed to tastemaker label Moshi Moshi, while Cagedbaby played his first ever DJ set at Slipped Disco. It’s also played host to a shed load of established acts (I:Cube, Fred Deakin/ Lemon Jelly, Sancho Panza, Justin Robertson, Pete Herbert, Horsemeat Disco DJs, Faze Action, Chris Coco, Serge Santiago, Danton Eeprom and so on).

“Whether penning features , currating Noise of Art projects or simply playing out, Ben Osborne likes to keep busy. Slipped Disco, his own night, has played a part in rescuing nights for everyone in need of somewhere to let their hair down.” (Flavourpill)

“DJ and purveyor of the coolest parties in East London” (ilikemusic)
