Yes We KAN’T back at Momo Fri 20th August

by Tom on Aug.15, 2010, under clubs

After a month spent mostly playing in large fields, it’s time to return to our favourite West End basement on Friday 20th Aug.

Time Out info and map HERE:

Following some riotous one-offs, Yes We KAN’T returns to its irregular monthly mash-up in the fashionable confines of Momo, with residents Ben Osborne and Severino.

Expect nothing but the finest party eclecticism as jackin house meets Seventies funk rock, salsa meets glitched disco and drum n bass. Dancing on the tables is optional but may prove irresistable.

Entry is free all night, email noiseofart@gmail.com for details.

Yes We KAN’T @ Momo, Fri 2nd July

by Tom on Jun.30, 2010, under clubs

It’s time for a mid-summer Yes We KAN’T session this Friday, back at our spiritual underground party lair, Momo.

After a series of packed out, mayhemic one-offs, DJs Severino and Ben Osborne launch their no holds barred, ad hoc monthly residency with a party mash-up in this fashionable central London haunt.

Osborne-Severino forays here cause sweet chaos as they mix from everything into anything (Seventies funk rock to salsa to glitched disco, jiggy house, drum n bass and bin munching b-lines), which regularly has them dancing on the tables. Even the doormen join in for the “one more tune” chorus.

Yes We KAN’T at Sketch this month, Fri 11 June

by Tom on Jun.01, 2010, under clubs

Continuing a series of one-off gigs, Yes We KAN’T moves into the salubrious Sketch club in the centre of London for a one-night party on Friday 11 June, with DJ Ben Osborne free-wheeling through the genres.

The venue played host to Noise of Art’s New Year’s Eve multi-media extravaganza and is a unique location for a party (including the famous Alien-inspired pod toilets, pictured). It’s free entry all night, but you’ll need to send an email to noiseofart@gmail.com for further details and to get on the list that ensures a nod at the door.

Then in July, Yes We KAN’T will settle down for an ad hoc residency back in the exotic environs of Momo in nearby Heddon St.
Current dates for the party calendar include Fridays 2nd July, 20th August and 17th September. Tables have a habit of being danced upon here, so we’re looking forward to the months ahead, kicking off with Sketch on the 11th…

Yes We KAN’T at Momo: April 9th & 7 Hour set at BCH: April 16

by Tom on Mar.25, 2010, under clubs

Friday 16 April…
Will see Noise of Art founder Ben Osborne play a seven hour set upstairs at the Big Chill House in Kings Cross. Entry is free until 10pm and then it’s £5 (as long as it’s not full).

Friday 9 April…
Having everyone stomping on the bar may not always be the best way to guarantee your return to one of central London’s swankiest venues, but that doesn’t seem to have stopped the ultra fashionable Momo from inviting Severino and Ben back to spin back to back again.

Their last foray here caused sweet chaos as they mixed from everything to anything (Seventies funk rock to salsa to glitched disco, jiggy house, drum n bass and bin munching b-lines). Even the bouncers didn’t want ‘em to stop.

Ben Osborne (Slipped Disco’ UFO/ Noise of Art) and Severino (Horse Meat Disco/ Hyena Stomp) celebrate the onset of fashion week by pairing-up for night long session in the basement of this famously fashionable central London hang out. Live dance act KAN’T bring their improvised prog grooves to the dancefloor, which usually means setting themselves up on the dancefloor amongst the audience. The alley outside Momo is apparently where Bowie shot the cover for his Zigggy Stardust concept album. Making it a suitably prog-meets-glam location for tonight’s antics.
