Woodbridge Festival returns to The Table for a post lockdown evening of virtuoso Classical strings, chilled Balearic beats and fine eats. Clio Gould and Jonathan Morton, founders of First Light Festival’s Ensemble and two of the world’s foremost violinists, and DJ Ben Osborne will be sound tracking Sunday night at Vernon Blackmore’s renowned restaurant.

Gould was the first woman to be appointed leader of a London orchestra (Royal Philharmonic Orchestra) and was the leader of the London Sinfonietta. She is a professor at Royal Academy of Music and director of the Royal Academy of Soloists.

Morton was a student of Yehudi Menuhin and is current Artistic Director at Scottish Ensemble and is also Principal First Violin at London Sinfonietta. He’s worked closely with composers and performers such as Steve Reich, Mica Levi, Anna Meredith, Thurston Moore and many more.

Clio and Jonathan have a reputation for exploring, promoting and discovering new music and pushing musical boundaries. They perform with leading orchestras all over the world, frequently record for film and have an extensive release catalogue. More locally, they formed the First Light Ensemble for Suffolk’s First Light Festival; held on mid summer’s eve on the UK’s most easterly beach. DJ Ben Osborne is described as a “Polymath” by Time Out and DJs internationally. His career includes pioneering late night music events in art institutions in London.

East Anglian Daily Times says The Table consistently gets good reviews: “Every meal guaranteeing diners great tastes and flavours.”

To join us on Sunday please book a table through the website or telephone. This is a Socially Distanced Event. Please bring a mask and follow guidelines.
