HE ROSS READING LIVE AT THE RIVERSIDE

H.E Ross’ poem for Noise of Art’s Black Montmartre project documents the life of King, an enslaved boy of Benjamin Franklin’s, who ran away while they were visiting the UK and found freedom with a Lady in Suffolk and the Navy. Ross was born in San Francisco, where he joined the marines, campaigned against the Vietnam war, founded the Black Maritime History movement and ran away to sea. He now lives in Suffolk where he is a writer and maritime historian.
