Featuring the launch of Neon World – A hidden, subterranean dayglo land.
Continuing Noise of Art’s celebration of psychedelic art, Brixton Bloc, the pop up art and music venue, launches into 016 by opening-up some of the hidden corridors that are normally tucked beyond it’s unique courtyard setting.
Opening tonight for the first time, the new areas have been converted by local artists into street art galleries and installation spaces, offering both an artistic experience and a party space.
Providing the musical treats are Noise of Art front man Ben Osborne, who Time Out London describes as dropping both ‘shimmering electronic delights” and “dance-floor bombs”. Joining him are South London posse Contact, who come stacked with extraterrestrial groove. While Italian house and disco don, David Agrella, of Dance Off, will be laying down the italo.
It’s also a safe bet for those who find it difficult to chose where to go on this notoriously overloaded night. Brixton Bloc’s NYE makes it easy, by opening its doors mid afternoon, giving plenty of time to anyone who wants to squeeze in more than one event.
